Hooked on Phonics is a great system that many people use to teach children how to read a lot earlier than they were before. Phonics Games can teach your children at a different level and make it even more interesting than before. You can learn at a faster pace and if it’s fun it makes it that much easier. When reading phonics you have to understand that your child is learning at a slower level than you and by making it fun you take out the stress, not that there was a lot of that to begin with.
The Phonics alphabet is the main thing that is used when teaching a child how to read phonics. It can be quite simple if you do it right, and most people do. When learning the regular alphabet you learn each letter until you can say the entire thing. You notice that everyone knows the alphabet song, and that is done because putting something into a song is one of the easiest ways to remember something.
The main dilemma with conventional phonics is that if you have a printed book, you can’t hear the sounds, in the same way if you have an audio cassette, you cannot see the letters. So that’s why I came up with this page, where you can hear the sounds, see the letters and have full control over which ones to study.
In the table above you have the 5 vowels, the 21 consonants and several “blend” and “combination” sounds where consonants are used together.
